“Our team shares a unified vision: to provide compassionate support and accessible information to help families, couples, and individuals build mental and relational health. We do this by addressing issues holistically on both an individual and systemic-relational level."

  • Haley Stromberg

    M.MFT, LMFT

Haley is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in marital and family relationship counseling and trauma therapy. Haley takes a holistic approach to mental health addressing the needs of the individual by considering the societal, relational, biological, spiritual, and emotional factors in a person's life. She is well-versed in all of the family therapy models and often uses Emotionally- Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems Therapy, EMDR, and Humanistic Therapy interventions. Haley approaches therapy with a collaborative stance, considering the client the expert on their life and situations and offers her expertise on relational dynamics, trauma and the brain, attachment wounds, and self-parenting to help her clients navigate their past hurts, current relationships, anxiety, depression, grief, and more. Haley works with a range of disorders and presenting issues including but not limited to:

Stress, anxiety, depression, marital dissatisfaction, grief, anger, fear, loneliness, LGBT-Q stressors, systematic victimization, infidelity, divorce, parenting, family conflict, trauma, PTSD, personality disorders, bi-polar disorder, oppression, OCD, DID, addiction, body-image, low self-esteem, eating disorders, abuse, brain injuries, spiritual guidance and more.

Haley loves what she does and aims to offer a safe and compassionate listening ear to anyone who is struggling. She will recommend a treatment with the client's input and then walk alongside them as they work on their own goals for healing and self-love.

Haley has also created a course for MFT- applicants to help them pass the national licensing exam. She is knowledgeable and practiced in the field having helped several students prepare for licensure. Haley is currently working on a course to help clients hack their mental health and overcome trauma.

Haley's dreams for Greater House Counseling include training other therapists and helping heal hearts, homes, and the world. She believes changing the world starts with healing ourselves. As we mend our own hearts, the families, friend groups, and other relational systems we are a part of cannot help but change in response to our new way of being. Similarly, the world changes as our churches, families, schools, and neighborhoods think and respond differently. Together, we can change the world. One heart and one home at a time.

Haley is married to her amazing husband Zach. Together they have served in church leadership and have lived as resident coordinators in a homeless shelter. It was during their time at the shelter that Haley learned the single leading cause of homelessness was the breakdown of the family unit. Before addiction, poverty, victimization, and trauma the family-system was torn apart. If home is where the heart is, it was the loss of close friends and families that left our displaced neighbors homeless. Together Zach and Haley cling to God's promise in Haggai 2:9 that "the present house shall be greater in glory than the former house..., and in this place [He] will grant peace." To Zach and Haley, healing the family is one of the key ingredients to seeing the Greater House of God's Kingdom on Earth.

We are all storytellers. I believe that people are shaped by the stories they are told by family, friends, culture, society, or even themselves. Sometimes stories are ruled by brokenness, fear, hurt, past trauma, or future anxieties. Dominant themes that run these stories might include “I’m not enough,” or, “I’m a failure.” It can be intimidating, scary, or even painful to share our stories with others, but letting people into your narrative is the most beautiful act of bravery.

An important part of my job is to ensure all of my clients feel that they are safe and comfortable enough to share their stories with me and that they are in control of our time together; this is how hope and healing can enter into the story. I utilize a systemic lens to zoom out and see the bigger picture of what is going on in your story, and together, we can begin to process and deconstruct how to change the narrative. Whether you need coping skills, time and space to process, or someone to offer support, change is possible.

I aim to be an ally to all communities and all stories. Whether you are facing anxious thoughts or feelings, major transitions or adjustments, or relational difficulties within your marriage or family, I am here and equipped to help. It is a great honor to be a part of your healing journey (whether it includes me or not), and I am hopeful for you and whatever your story holds.

    Five fun facts about me:

    • I could eat Chick Fil A for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
    • I love experiencing new things and meeting new people, especially through travel
    • I was born and raised in Houston, TX!
    • I love reading (specifically fiction)
    • I am an enneagram 7 and am prone to laughter
