Individual Counseling

You can usually explain the pattern. You can probably trace where it came from. And you’re still in it, still bracing, still over-functioning, still saying yes when you mean no.

In practice

What working together looks like

We start with what’s happening now

Sessions happen in the Arlington office or online anywhere in Texas, whichever actually fits your week. Anxiety, depression, life transitions, the same reaction showing up again. We start with what is happening now and work back to where it learned to happen. You are the expert on your own life; I bring what I know about trauma, the nervous system, and the relational patterns underneath.

Most of what brings people in has a history

Most of what brings people in has a history. I work trauma-informed, which means we build steadiness before we go digging, and we go at the pace your body can actually tolerate rather than the pace you think you should manage.

You didn’t form these patterns alone

I trained as a marriage and family therapist, so I look at what you are carrying in the context of the relationships it formed in (family, partner, work, church) rather than treating it as something happening inside you in isolation.

Most of the change happens between sessions

You will not be doing this alone, and you will not be handed a worksheet and sent home. Most of the change happens between sessions, so you will usually leave with something specific to try.

In the office or online, whichever you’ll actually do

In person in Arlington, or online anywhere in Texas on a secure, confidential platform. Whichever one makes it likelier that you actually show up is the right one.
